Well, there's always gifts from trusted friends... I don't know how
people tend to guess what kind of presents will please me...

Naaah, if your wine doesn't have the time to go down your cellar, it
only means that you didn't buy enough...

Okay, so it's not truly simple, but I'll go with a Condrieux 2001
(name of the producer not published for fear of his wine becoming even
more scarce than it currentl is: he sells his wines so damn fast that
I from time to time don't have the time to go there and buy some wine
before his "for sale" stock is empty[1]...)
FiX
[1] which means I get less bottles than I would like to: I'm a good
enough customer for him to sell me wine that was originally planned
for his personnal consumption

I'm afraid I don't know this one at all... there's only one solution,
you know? You'll have to come to Paris with a sample bottle so that I
don't die ignorant O:-)
Fi'Chateauneuf du papae 2000'X

Those of us who like wine, tend to spell it 'Châteauneuf du Pape'...

Sorry, I could not resist, but that is a Koelsch, of course
that does not preclude bringing a bottle (or more) next time
I come to Paris, or you to Cologne perhaps (then you could
sample my special terrine as well).
More grapes are in:
Schloss Vollrads, Rheingau Riesling Spaetlese, 1999 (alternatively a 2003)
